How much water should I use for the moulding and casting powders?

Getting the right mix is key to a perfect result ✨

  • Moulding powder: Mix 1 part powder with 3 parts cool (room temperature) water. Stir briskly for about 30–45 seconds and use immediately.
  • Casting stone: Mix 1 part powder with 2 parts cool water, stir thoroughly until smooth, and pour directly into the mould.

    Avoid using warm water, as it can cause the mixture to set too quickly.

My mixture didn’t set properly — what went wrong?

Don’t worry, this can happen even with the best of intentions! Usually, it’s because the water was too warm, too much water was added, or the mixture wasn’t used quickly enough after stirring.

For best results, make sure to measure precisely, use cool water, and mix briskly before pouring immediately.

How many hands fit in one kit?

Our kits are designed to work beautifully for family and couple keepsakes:

  • The Single Kit is perfect for 1–2 hands (for example, an adult and child).
  • The Trio Kit fits 2–3 hands comfortably.

If you’d like to capture 4 or more hands, you can simply add additional kits to your cart and mix them together in a larger container — many families do this to create a full family sculpture.
